Preparations:
- Go easy on make-up: Your usual is enough, or just wear lipgloss and soft mascara.
- If you'll try to cover up pimples, do it properly and the correct shade - sometimes, make-up on a pimple will stand with a flash photo, beware of that!
- Take a brush with you (unless your hair is styled in a bun or something) - to get rid of last minute frizz
During Picture time:
- Look a little above the camera lense: This prevents red eyes.
- Straighten your back, relax your arms and maybe be slightly turned to one side for a natural pose
- Position your head however you think it looks best - or use this method: Move your face forward a little bit and move your chin slightly downwards. This will get rid of unnecessary shadows under chin and will define your facial features a little bit more. Just don't overdo this - you don't want to go for the giraffe look!
- Say: 'Cheese!' for a winning smile! Say: 'Prunes' (with a smile) for a natural pout, not a duck face. Either way will look good. Or go for a classic closed mouth smily face!
- When you get ready to smile, think of a happy memory/ something that just makes you happy - giggle a little bit even. This helps you gain a natural smile.
- Smile with your eyes too.
Good tips:
- Don't get too dramatic if you don't like the photo - most of the time, a person doesn't like their own photo because you just notice all the details. To other people, you probably look gorgeous.
- Add highlighter to your cheeks
- Put hair out of your face
- If you want the 'hair wind blow' look, put your head to your knees (if you're sitting) and whip it back! Bam, instant hair volume!
- You may find that you look awesome at a different angle, so turn your head sideways a tiny bit
