Internet slamming: Seriously?

Let me tell a poem. It's what many Facebook replies look like kids:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Fuck you

"Welcome to the Internet" is one very popular Facebook page, posting funny pictures and statuses every few hours. Not gonna lie, I do like that page. The photos aren't the good bit though, the comments are! Many times they make me laugh, not just think 'lol'.
However, it's become this new 'craze' to be an asshole. Let me give you an example.

Jim: This post is racist, why are you telling black people that they are all thugs and thief's?
Paul: Butthurt fag
Monique: The amount of butthurt here omg, stop being a fucking emo kid and have fun. everybody else is laffink!

The thing is, when there's a racist, homophobic or offensive or sexist (etc.) post, someone speaks out - and the people who slam this person are usually straight, white and male. I'm not being rude, I'm being truthful. No person is better than anyone, but if the post is highly offensive, you won't understand unless you're in the situation.

Now there's a difference between being butthurt and being actually hurt. Racist, homophobic and sexist jokes CAN be funny. But the lines aren't blurred (cheesy), once you cross them, it's too much. I won't go into detail and give examples this time because I don't want to spread hate like that, not on my blog.

Then there's people who comment other things. Basically, whatever you comment - opinions, fun facts, 'I just had pizza' kind of thingses - you WILL get shat at. And it's not a nice experience. When these people run out of things to say, or when there's nothing they can think of, the response can easily be just 'Die, asshole'. Just witnessed that today. How original and creative, right?

Come on people, seriously? There's nothing witty or clever about hateful comments with no point, or just putting someone else down. If you don't like it, be mature and speak like a human - don't start swearing like a douche for no good reason, using caps, use that 'oh-I'm-so-much-fucking-better-than-you' tone or just put the user down.

To people who are good hearted and understand, thanks! Keep doing your thang! And to people who enjoy hurting others via the net - for what, likes? Attention? A warm feeling?...
...Assholes.

Story: I wish my sister would never exist

Lisa held her head in her hands. I can't take this anymore, she thought. I just love her, but she makes my life a nightmare. I just wish she'd never exist!
And Lisa honestly didn't hate Cassandra, her fraternal twin sister. She loved her too much, that was her problem. Seeing Cassandra do what she was, well, doing, made Lisa miserable and sometimes she just wished that Cassandra could somehow disappear - not because she wanted her dead, but so that she never had to care for her, and that it never had to hurt to see her sister like that.
Every evening, Cassandra would sneak out of her wood framed windows and meet up with her friends. And they did things, things that didn't exactly have a parental approval. They would smoke anything that can be rolled, drink bottles of pure vodka and rum, pour salt on snails, and finally fall asleep in the woods - often with each other!
Poor Lisa wasn't sure what upset her the most - the fact that Cassandra turned into a slutty drug addict, or that she wasn't invited along. Like, why doesn't her sister, the second her, talk to her? Isn't she trust worthy? Do Cassandra's mates take her for a prissy loser?
The worst part was, that although Lisa and Cassandra were twins - shared a DNA, laughs, a car, friends (or at least Lisa thought), clothes and a room until they were 14 - they weren't close at all. Not even a little bit. They never talk about boys, their secrets, emotions, or, God forbid, sex. That was beyond awkward. So how on earth could she possibly confront Cassandra about how she saw her sneaking out in the middle of the night, and how she knows what she's been up to because she followed her all the way to those fucking woods - eight times? Cassandra would never understand that she was trying to look for answers; let alone forgive her!
The thing was, Lisa really wanted her and her sister to bond, but how? Like Hey, let's talk about how many people you've slept with - she'd rather lick the insides of a worm her biology teacher dissected the week before. Kill me.
'Damn it Cassandra!' Lisa cried, double checking through her door to be positive that she was home alone. 'Why are you doing this to me? Why am I so attached to you?' Somehow, screaming out loud helped just a little bit.
And it was impossible for Lisa to just leave her sister to do as she pleased - she cared about her too much. It was also impossible to talk to Cassandra about this situation. Or their parents - that would mean ratting out, and she would never face her twin after how she stalked and obsessed with her night life.
So, what should Lisa do?

Leave your suggestions in the comment section, so we can finish this story!

5 Myths about Being a Model

1. You barely eat and count every calorie
That is absolutely untrue! Models pose for hours on the same spot, which, believe it or not, makes you go dizzy after a while without food! All humans need nutrients do function (thanks bio class). Models eat food like every other person, but keep a healthy diet. It just depends on the model's digestion system, activity and specialisation (eg. face models must be careful not to eat food that creates pimples).

2. You must be tall and skinny
Although classic catwalk models sadly do have to fit into this criteria, there are tons of modelling for all shapes and sizes! Be it a clothing catalogue, a fashion magazine or even a phone app advert - there's a spot for everyone with motivation!

3. You must have the 'perfect' face
If you look at photos of models, most of them don't have big eyes, full lips and perfectly arched eyebrows. That is the beauty of modelling - agencies look for girls with imperfections that can be turned into a strong trademark - like Cara's thick eyebrows, Kate's far-away eyes, Cindy's mole, and many other model's with an original facial structure!
If you have no noticeably special features or think you look plain (but I know you don't), that's awesome too! Your face will be like a blank canvas which can be turned into many different looks! Consider yourself lucky!

4. You get to be a diva
Absolutely not! If you think you're gonna snap your fingers, say 'get that disgusting thing you call a dress out of my face' and demand only blue drinks and pink foods, you're fooling yourself. Your job is to model, not speak your opinion on the other people's jobs. That is rude and in any profession, being rude is not an option. Just like a cleaner must mop the floors, you must go along with everything you're told - yes, even have your hair cut in a pixie crop if it's required! It is tough, but you've gotta suck it up - many girls can take your place!

5. A model's life is super-glamorous
Being a model is exciting, but not as glam as you may think. Think of it as an egg, all smooth on the outside but runny and messy on the inside (ok, not exactly a great metaphor so give me other ideas). The bad side of modelling is what people tend to overlook. You have to travel all the time (without checking out the monuments and shit), so you have no time for family. You have to wear stuff you may not feel comfortable in, like a skimpy outfit or no clothes at all! You get unmercifully criticised on the way you look all the time (wow, it's cool guys, I don't have feelings or anything). It can be depressing as you're treated as though you are not human, but an object. You get rejected All. The. Time. and have to spend loads of money on travel costs to auditions. These are just a fraction of the disadvantages.
However, if you're ready for all that, go for it! Every job has its down sides, this is just to show you that modelling won't make you happier.

Futuristic Barbie?

Sure, it's a doll. Just a piece of plastic with horse hair. Most 7-year-olds don't care about her unrealistic waist size, but about what Malibu additional swimsuit to buy and which house Barbie will fit into. Barbie is a fashion doll.

As much as that makes sense, the reality is, the figure of this mini lady affects kids. A lot. Seeing the toy sets an image of what 'perfection' is. What if Barbie suddenly came with massive feet? Over a long period of time, people would probably start getting foot surgeries to enlarge them.
I can go on for ages about how dangerous Barbie is, but let's move on.
Let's just evaluate her body:

  • Too-tall (for her body, she wouldn't be able to live, let alone walk!)
  • Tiny feet
  • Flat belly
  • Massive tigh gap (although this is needed so her legs can be mobile and kids can play with her)
  • Extremely skinny
  • Yet has big boobs, curvy hips and her butt isn't flat
  • Don't even get me started on her face yo
ANYWAY, getting depressed over this won't help. Creating a realistic design might!
Thanks to amazing Nickolay Lamm who created, using photoshop and 3D printers, a realistic, healthy-looking Barbie. She is a glorious copy of the average 19-year-old. They even changed her face and everything! Next to the alien-skinny Barbie, the healthy doll looks big, but in reality, she would be normal size!
And Demi has been amazing supporting this idea (Although she may be a little confused, this Barbie is not the new official, it's still just an idea that will hopefully become reality soon).
Click right here to read more and enjoy more pics! (Oh and ignore JonaD in the comments, he/she is a bit of a loony).
This is not to say that skinny girls aren't beautiful too - everyone has the right to feel beautiful. But the original Barbie doll just isn't realistic, even for the skinniest girl walking this planet.

Is the Media affecting you Too much?

Let's be honest, we're all affected by the media in some way. People who say they aren't can't admit it.
And today I'm not talking about looks, but I'm talking about behaviour.

Let's take a teen drama series, like Gossip Girl. Girls from all around the world love watching Serena and Blair sport the cutest, most expensive outifts and hook up with great looking guys. And by 'hook up', I don't mean just hanging out - I mean straight on sex.

Characters on teen drama are sexually active - as teens themselves. Sleep with ya best friend (to try it), then sleep with ya BFF's boy (to stir up drama), then sleep with your boyfriend of 1 week, and last but not least, have a threesome to staple it up.
Gosh. You may say 'well that's reliaty, darling'. Yeah, it's reality because people keep showing these kind of scenes. TV, music and media in general have such a massive effect on us... I can't even imagine!

Now, let's get to you. If you think having sex at your age (teen) is OK, doing weed is in the weekly partly package, not drinking at your age is insane, running around in a bikini is a daily thing, having a threesome is on your bucket list and if you're listening to 'Not a Girl, Not yet a Woman' and nodding etc., you're affected by the media in a negative way - big time. (At 16, you're still a girl, period. I should know).

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE a bit of GG, but its viewer must be responsible enough not to copy everything what they see on the screen. So if you think you can't handle seeing sex everywhere without being tempted, don't watch it.

ADVICE: I know peer pressure comes to this too. But next time you see something 'badass' (and illegal) on TV, think twice before tying acting and reality together. Try to find friend who understand this too. Trust me, there are ways to have fun without damaging your body, mind and future. Like Tyra Banks, try going to movies, ice cream and parks for starters - then discover more, and in the end, it won't matter where you are with your friends - just hanging out with each others' company will be enough.

So you wanna host a Patry?

Rules of being a party host:
1) The number one, most important rule of any house party is....
DON'T BE THE HOST.

But since some of you mofos like to feel good by being rule breakers, here are some tips on how to try and keep your house looking OK-ish after throwing a house 'gathering'.

2) Make a Guest List
Make sure you have a guest list. If you don't want people to get hurt, just say that everyone in your year/ class/ friend group is invited. You can make a private event on Facebook, adding all these people and telling them the info. Why? Having loads of random people can get you into trouble. Who knows what kind of weirdos can enter your house, and if anything gets damaged, you won't be close to knowing who done it. It is suitable to lock the door after each guest comes so you don't get the oddball breaking in and crashing the party.

3) Create a Party Room
Decide where exactly the party people can step their feet. Lock rooms that are out of bounds (eg like your parents' room, your room, room with valuables...). This is a no-brainer. Unless you want them kids puking on your duvet (and there WILL probably be puking), keep them out!

4) Hide Valuable stuff
Hide all your breakable/ valuable/ favourite stuff, so it doesn't get broken or stolen. This includes your parents' stuff, keys, laptop... and you can figure out everything else.

5) Dry Food only
Sure creamy profiteroles and cheesy nachos can look good, but... Don't buy messy food! There's plenty of snacks out there that can do just fine. Crisps, gummy bears and mini sausages tend to be favourites. You can even buy mini sandwiches for the 'bigger' food.

6) Space for Dance floor
Move tables and chairs out of the way. More space for dancing, less chance of people tripping and messing up the couch. Win-win!

7) Ask guests to clean
I know, you don't want to be the party pooper, but when peeps are going home, ask each to throw a can/ food wrapping into a garbage bag you'll be holding at the door. No can = no can do, buddy, you're staying until I have that trash (that made no sense at all, just ignore).

8) Keep your eyes open!!!
Do you know all these people very well? Make sure to see if some bitch isn't sneaking a video game controller into his pocket, or over there, someone might be having a wazz in the kitchen. It happens!

STORY TIME
Okay, this is why I'm advising you to do all these things.
I know a guy in my school, let's say his name is Maurice. He is Scottish. Maurice's parents decides to leave for a week. This little dude told his close friend that he might be throwing a party: 'But don't tell anyone yet'. Of course she told.
About 50 people came, most of them were from school. This is what happened: Firstly, his video controller got stoles, as did his keys and other valuable objects. Someone pooped and puked in the kitchen floor (there's a lovely photo of it on Facebook). Then came the best part - people started randomly throwing things into his garden pond. You know, the odd phone, shoes, VACUUM CLEANER! And last (but probably not), a boy who's always angry punched the wall (because he's so angry), then someone punched it again to make the whole bigger.
Maurice now attends anger counselling (who knows why), and his family had to replace the lock. Damages cost about £1000 altogether. Poor Maurice :(

School Pictures - look good in them!

Preparations:
  • Go easy on make-up: Your usual is enough, or just wear lipgloss and soft mascara.
  • If you'll try to cover up pimples, do it properly and the correct shade - sometimes, make-up on a pimple will stand with a flash photo, beware of that!
  • Take a brush with you (unless your hair is styled in a bun or something) - to get rid of last minute frizz
During Picture time:

  • Look a little above the camera lense: This prevents red eyes.
  • Straighten your back, relax your arms and maybe be slightly turned to one side for a natural pose
  • Position your head however you think it looks best - or use this method: Move your face forward a little bit and move your chin slightly downwards. This will get rid of unnecessary shadows under chin and will define your facial features a little bit more. Just don't overdo this - you don't want to go for the giraffe look!
  • Say: 'Cheese!' for a winning smile! Say: 'Prunes' (with a smile) for a natural pout, not a duck face. Either way will look good. Or go for a classic closed mouth smily face!
  • When you get ready to smile, think of a happy memory/ something that just makes you happy - giggle a little bit even. This helps you gain a natural smile.
  • Smile with your eyes too.

Good tips:
  • Don't get too dramatic if you don't like the photo - most of the time, a person doesn't like their own photo because you just notice all the details. To other people, you probably look gorgeous.
  • Add highlighter to your cheeks
  • Put hair out of your face
  • If you want the 'hair wind blow' look, put your head to your knees (if you're sitting) and whip it back! Bam, instant hair volume!
  • You may find that you look awesome at a different angle, so turn your head sideways a tiny bit

Teeth: Perfect Imperfections

Braces, braces, everywhere! Why though?
I get that if your tooth is stuck pointing forwards or something to that measure, you'll want your teeth straighter for purposes like easier eating. But why bother will all the crap about not being able to eat apples or, even worse, toffees and chewing gum - when your 'imperfect' teeth are not that bad?
Let me give a few examples.

'Vampire' teeth
So the two of your from teeth at the side are a bit longer that the rest, or pushed forwards - and? If I'd be lucky enough to have 'vampire' like teeth, I'd enjoy it and ever complain! Looking wicked yet glam is totally for me!

Gap Toothed Peeps
Aw, how cute are gaps? I'd love to have one - I'll even admit, I used to draw one in the middle of my teeth with a black eye pencil! Face models with gaps are becoming extremely popular.

Gummy smile
So you don't like your whole gums showing? I had no idea this was an issue - 'dum' gum smiles are totally normal! At least you can show off your teeth, and have a big, wide smile!
Gummy smile is beautiful!

You teeth are imperfect?
No, they're perfect for you! Maybe you unique tooth arrangement makes you look cute, or original even.

Plus, anyone who smiles, even with crooked teeth, will look so much prettier and more approachable! Jump and laugh everybody!

Did you know: Japanese women love to have crooked teeth, or 'Yaeba' style teeth. So much that women with straight teeth pay to have their teeth done in this crooked way! So a lot of you out there, count yourselves lucky!

Rumours: They spread so fast!

Here's an actual true story about how gossip and rumours can turn into a big fat lie - faster than you think! Each sentence represents something someone said to another person, who then passed it on to another person etc.

"Katie auditioned to be an extra in this movie. You know if she got it? Looks like she didn't, cause she's not looking very happy. She'd probably brag her ass off if she got it anyway."

"You know Katie, right? She auditioned to be an extra in a movie, but she didn't get it! Haha."

"Did you see Katie today? She didn't get a part in this movie. I saw her today at lunchtime with her friends and she wasn't saying much. She's usually a blabber mouth, so she must be, like, super upset!"

"Katie Pork was crying today - it's probs because of the movie thing. You heard about that, right? Well apparently, she was crying when she was with her friends, and they didn't look like they cared. Maybe they had something to do with it, or I don't know..."

"Oh my gosh, everyone keeps talking about Katie's movie thing? Yeah, her friends sabotaged her audition or something! Wtf, I know right?!"

"Oh and did you hear about the Katie thing? Well, turns out her best mate ruined her audition - what if she, like auditioned too and got the part? That'd be sooo nasty!"

"You won't believe this - Lily auditioned secretly for the same part as Katie - and she got it! I know! They're like, best mates. I'd have to kill you if you did that to me!"

"How could Lily steal Katie's role like that - it was like a big part of a series as well. Like Pretty Little liars sort of thing. Then again, Lily's always been a massive Little Liar (fan)."

"Hey, did you know Lily is a big ass liar? She made the whole thing up!"

HHAHAHAHAHAH poor 'Katie'. This thing happened at my school since last week till today. I heard most of these myself - you know, the word gets frickin' everywhere! Some of them my firneds told me they heard people say. You wanna know the real story?
Katie Pork (I obv changed the name) is a drama freak who keeps going on about wanting to be a actress. She did want to try out for a part as an extra in a film, but she didn't even get to audition, as she didn't come with an adult parent/ guardian. And as for her being upset, I don't know. Honestly, I don't give two flying f**ks about Katie Pork. She's not a very nice person. Lol.

Remembrance day!

Wow, one special event after another in the past couple of weeks.
Did you get your poppy yet? If not, there's still time. You can wear it all next week and beyond to show respect. I got mine on thursday, and lost it on friday - it was one of my bad days, so you can try to imagine what happened when I found out my poppy was gone on top of everything else.

Enough about me. Let's take time to remember all those who lost their lives in the unfortunate events of world wars and other wars that happened in the past, and are still happening now. Think about their families and friends, too, who lost their loved ones.

MY sweet boutique (click for their FB page)
Be original and decorate your poppy to make it special for you! That way you'll be even more gutted if you lose it! Yay?
This idea is from My Sweet Boutique (they sell awesome creative girly stuff, check out their website here.

How to have a Vanity table/area!

A simple vanity!
Ah, the glamorous lives of Hollywood movie stars and rich girls living in penthouses! They love their vanity tables! Huh, what's that? You wish you had a vanity table? And felt like them while doing your hair in the morning? It's actually not that hard to make one - or even fake one!

Find an area:
  • If you have a decent table in your room, great! You can even use a night table. I don't have a table in sight, so I use the top of my wardrobe. You a basically use anything that is high enough for you to use comfortably.
  • The other was is to find a table-high cardboard box, which is strong enough to hold some objects, and paint it/ stick nice decorative paper over it to make it look pretty.
  • The other thing you can do, is use a shelf - but again, make sure you can actually use it as a vanity and it's not too high/low.

Collect items:
  • Mirror: Find a mirror - the bigger the better - which can stand (has that thingy at the back which keeps it standing), or lean it against the wall, but make sure it doesn't fall (use items to keep it stable). Decorate it, if it isn't already, with paint - you can paint on small roses of your favorite colour, with gentle stems curling around the edge of the mirror. If your mirror doesn't have any edge, paint on the mirror itself, e.g. in the corners!
  • Objects: Time to find any items you use regularly - and that look good! This is the classic list of basics:
          - Perfumes: One or two of your favourite perfumes will be handy and makes any vanity look nice!
          - Jewelry: Not too much, but a box of your favourite earrings, or a rind holder, is great!
          - Book: If you have enough space, a book you're in the middle of is right there when you need it.
          - Make-up: I don't wear much make-up, but my purple lipstick and peach blush are always there.
          - Hair Brush: Duh, where else are you gonna do your hair than in front of your mirror?
          - Vase with flower: Just a small flower will keep you room fresh and won't steel your oxygen!
          - Photo: An image that means the world to you!
          - Any other stuff you use to get ready in the morning - this is the place for it!
Use containers to organize your stuff! This will keep you organized and will make your vanity much      clearer and glamorous looking.
You can also make a themed vanity - if you're a nail designer, keep mainly your nail polishes and equipment here. Live for make-up? This is a great spot for your beauty box!

Essentials:
  • You'll need a chair to sit on to be comfortable while grooming yourself
  • If your vanity is too high, I'm sorry, you're standing.
  • Make sure your vanity is not overfilled with stuff - the point is to keep it organized and neat!
  • Also, make sure it's safe - especially if your mirroris leant against the wall! If you use a large cardboard box, makesure your mirror is light enough (they sell mirrors on paper)

Juice Cleanses = BAD idea!

Blake Lively once advised millions of habitants to 'go for' juice cleansing.
What is juice cleansing, I hear you ask?
It is basically drinking only fruit and vegetable juices for a few days to attempt to lose weight or stop smoking. The idea is that you will get most nutrients from juices and no need of normal food.
But it's not as easy as that. Juice cleansing has many bad side effects:

  • Slows down metabolism: For those of you who are trying to lose weight by juice cleansing, it only slows down your metabolism. What this means is, as soon as you get back to normal eating habits, you will most likely gain weight rather than losing it.
  • Damages body: Unless you haven't heard, juices are healthy unless you drink too much of them. So juice cleansing is damaging to some of your body organs.
  • Bad teeth: Juice is full of acid, that's why you should only drink juice while eating a meal, otherwise the acid can damage your teeth, big time! Drinking just juice without eating for several days can totally ruin your pearls!
  • Salt deficiency: This will cause you weakness, headaches, nausea... So hello dark circles under-eyes  brittle nails and weak hair!
  • Bad breath: Eating breakfast gets rid of bad breath - juices won't!
  • Nutrients deficiency: You might think that juices will provide you with lots of nutrients... they won't! They do contain vitamins, fibres, and waayyy too much sugar. Not enough healthy fat (which you actually need for many things, even strong hair and clear complexion), carbohydrates for energy and many more!
The lost goes on. So no thank you, Blake Lively - next time, think before you advise millions of people something that can be actually damaging.

So, in other words, juice cleansing is just a myth that people do. NEVER do it!
PS: Don't try to lose weight by crazy diets! Love your body the way it is, and if you actually NEED to lose weight (when it's affecting your health), then do it by eating healthy meals, and exercising regularly! No crazy diets!

How to choose your A-level subjects

It's THE time of the year - all the upper high school students of the UK are to choose their 6th form subjects - four only! I remember, this time last year, I was stuck.
You might have troubles with picking only four subjects. Some of you will be stuck on what to choose! Well, here are some tips for you to try!

1) Visit Open Evenings/Days
Make a list of all the potential 6th forms you'd like to go to next year. Visit their websites or call to find out the dates for open evenings. It's excellent - not only you'll get an idea of which school you love the most; it's the best opportunity to ask teachers questions about the subjects and see what to expect from it!

2) Do your research
Picking the right A-levels is important or your future job. You should do a research before picking your subjects. Know what career you want to do already? Then ask your teacher what subjects are necessary (for example, Chemistry is essential for medicine, Art or Textiles for fashion design etc.)! Surf the net for some advice too! Yahoo Answers and Student room forums are answers from real people; UCAS has requirements for certain courses from Universities themselves.
The internet is gold for subject researching! Relief.

3) Keep your options open...
...if you're still undecided what you want to do when you're older, or if you have no clue! There's no problem with not knowing, it's just the subject choice! My advice to you is to keep the option doors wide open. Choose some academic subjects, like Maths, Biology, Geography, Languages... and some that you enjoy doing (any subjects!). Having at least one academic subject is great, but make sure it's something that you're good at - otherwise there's no point.

4) Don't choose on behalf your friends!
This happens a lot: Everyone from your friend group is picking e.g. English. You're terrible at this subject, but you don't want to loose your friends, so you do it anyway - you'll dig your way through somehow, right? Wrong! This is your future we're talking about! If your best friend or even all of them are interested in completely different subjects than you, don't follow their footsteps. It may be hard, but you can always hang out at breaks, free hours and after school. Besides, you won't have time to chat in lessons in 6th form!
(This doesn't count if you both truly like the same subjects - that's awesome!)
It's OK to show up in the same dress. It stinks to
choose a subject only because your friend did too!

5) Deal with parents!
Ooh! Parents' wishes of your subject choices clash with yours! Been there, done that myself! This can be very hard (especially if you have those parents who want you to study medicine/law!! I know right?). Sit down with your parents and tell them you're not that good at the subject they expect you to do, and that it won't be no use if you won't put your whole heart into your studies. If they still don't budge, make a compromise - you'll pick 2 of the subject they want, and you'll pick 2 you truly enjoy. At the beginning of the next year, they might see that their choice of subjects is not for you and let you change them! Also, if you're sneaky, have someone else talk to them about this, like their friends - it might help to have backup!
'I'm gonna be a singer, Mum, whether you like it or NOT!'
'But I know BEST!'

6) Do subjects you're good at!
There's no point studying something you have no intention of pursuing in the future or what you aren't good at. My friend did Biology just because she thought it looks good on her University Application - she got an E! Therefore, this is not a good thing to do! Besides, the subjects you're good at will be much easier and enjoyable! Although Maths may be more useful, it's better to get an A in Film Studies than a D in Maths!

7) Make lists
Old-fashioned, but super helpful! Make a list of definitely, maybe, and definitely NOT sections of subjects that your future school offers. If your definitely column is half empty, ask a teacher or your school career adviser for help. If, on the other had, it's overflowing, you need to think which subjects are important for your future, which you're best at, and which you'll enjoy the most! For example, if you love Drama, but also Biology, Economics, Maths and English, and need them for your future career, do drama outside of school (this is just an example - it depends on your subject priorities).
Should I do Media or Photography or Business?

8) UCAS
If you know which career is right for you, visit UCAS and look up various jobs - click *right here* to find your dream job's subject requirement. For example, if you want to do medicine, click m, then medicine. It will give you a list of Uinversities and Colleges in the UK where you an study medicine. Pick a University, click on entry requirements, then click course specific requirements, and browse through - it should tell you what subjects they require at what grade! It's awesome.
If you're still struggling to figure out what career path is right for you, still have a look at this thing, it's great.

9) Try stuff out!
You might be surprised with some subjects! Maybe there's one out there that you think is not for you - but will find it's actually perfect! Taster sessions should be available, open evenings are happening and teachers are there to tell you what the course includes! Who knows, maybe History isn't so bad after all.
If you're losing sleep over which subject NOT to take, this might also help you realize that actually, that subject isn't too important for you.
